I, Georgina Mavor, am passionate .. about being wholly, fully, divinely human and what we can do to nurture that; about peace of mind; about tapping into our creative source; about feeling and being a part of community. I have always been interested in what makes people tick. As a professional psychologist I have worked with troubled youth and mental health. In management I have been concerned with how people learn, how they move through change and how they perform at their best within the context of the rules and expectations of the place in which they work. And in teaching I have explored the meaning of leadership and the transition of women from home to work. As a mother I am in awe of the lifeforce that flows through our children, how we as parents can support its exploration of the world and at the same time protect its integrity so that we enable our children to grow into adults capable of creatively meeting the demands that their lives will draw from them and to negotiate the relationships we are all dependent on both physically and spiritually. And as an artist I have recently been awakened to the creative well within us all, supported or suppressed by the stories of our lives and the people in it. My journey has been a rich and deep one, there has been some incredible highs and lows, and all of it brings me closer to my experience and understanding of home. It is this which underpins all my work whether it be simply to have fun with a group of people, or to explore the more complex aspects of our lives. I hope that some of you will join me, to share our stories, our learning and most of all our wisdom … the words that seem to come from nowhere, in conversations where we feel most at peace.
